Other Blogs

Here are some other blogs that I visit:

A Black Girl’s Guide to Weight Loss

This is Erika Nicole Kendall’s blog about her 160 pound journey. It is truly inspiring as evidenced by her massive following on facebook, twitter and email.

She puts it as “one girl’s journey from couch potato to personal trainer, nutritionist and bikini competitor.”

The blog dates back to at least 2009 and it is still going strong.

Run Eat Repeat

Monica set up her blog five years ago (2009) to document her diet, healthy recipes and training for her first marathon. What’s that got to do with most of us you say? Well, she does love running, but she also loves eating.

Her challenge was to come up with a way to eat all the things she enjoys eating and still be healthy enough to run marathons. Most are us aren’t into running marathons but we could still use some eating and exercise tips.

Healthy Tipping Point

Caitlin’s blog is named after the “tipping point.” She describes this as when we stop “trying” to live healthy and centered lives and it just happens. It was a stage where she finally felt balanced in terms of her eating and running habits.

She is a mom (american spelling) to a boy and two dogs. She is also an author and runs three businesses. With her juggling all that, she is certainly someone to learn from.

The Anti-Jared

Tony lost over 200 pounds. His blog is called “Anti-Jared” because Jared lost 200 pounds too but he did it by eating subs. Tony does not like eating subs. His approach is different.

Personally, I like subs. Unfortunately for me, I put on weight when I eat them. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense but I’m guessing it is the sauce I add that ruins them as a weight loss tool for me. Anyway, Tony has other food options and, after he lost some weight, he started building muscle too.

Cranky Fitness

Cranky Fitness is a health and fitness blog started by “Crabby McSlacker” in 2007.

It does NOT provide upbeat inspirational advice about how easy and fun it is to eat healthy food, lose weight, and stay in shape. One of its founding principles is: Healthy Living is a Pain in the Ass. I like the blog because I like to look for solutions to things that annoy people. But that’s just me.
